Lester Thurow, the former dean of the MIT Sloan School of Management explains the root of what we’re trying to solve: One of the peculiarities of economics is that it still rests on a behavioral assumption-rational utility maximization-that has long since been rejected by sociologists and psychologists. Consider sub-optimal decisions made daily by individuals and organizations. Bad habits such as rash spending, poor eating, poor relationship choices, ineffective parenting, wastefulness, inefficiency, unhealthy environmental choices, for example. Any combination of daily events can cause undue stress in the short term. Now apply that scenario to the bigger picture and consider the collective burden of more consequential actions on society and the culminating impact. The ramifications of these choices help form your ideologies and political views. Our goal is to provide an optimal environment to allow one to categorically be the best scenario to make prudent investment choices. We provide a marketplace with the best options to invest time, money, or yourself for social enterprise and progressing the human experience. Win-Win.
Making the world a better place does not have to be exclusive to a healthy bottom line. What we believe is that there needs to be a paradigm shift in thinking to allow both to occur in a complimentary fashion. Individuals and Organizations need to learn to instinctively make decisions that best will best maximize aggregate utility. That sometimes means sacrificing individual opportunity for collective benefit. Although this approach to Civics may be an acquired taste, the end result—the empathic benefit—can exceed the personal cost. The small sacrifice can offer a greater reward. This “we” thinking is the basis of a collectively owned platform that acts as a catalyst for innovation. The innovation allows the needs and wants of the masses to be met—improving lives and fortunes. The purveyor of the innovation profits financially by providing it while doing good. Win-Win.
Arithmetic and mathematics has served us in describing the patterns and structure we find in nature and enabled humans to make extraordinary technological advances. Our intention is to apply the same logic to break down and solve world problems. Breaking down binary code to its’ most basic form leaves us with “0”s and “1”s. These simple numbers; however, construct the most sophisticated technology known to humankind. By pooling knowledge and reformulating from the basics to create something novel, innovative, or both, is what we do. Potential is limitless, but individually we’re constrained by the resources of time, money, and human capacity. Our collaborative model takes inventory of our collective resources and works to balance scarcity and abundance to maximize efficiency. We follow a scientific method to contribute our collective knowledge to find new or better ways to approach world problems. We appeal to the human needs of survival, belonging, personal passion, and transcendence to mobilize investors, thinkers, and doers to democratically define problems worth solving and collaboratively bring solutions to life. Then we build on the accumulated knowledge, efficiently applying understanding and technology to create a superior outcome.
FROM ME TO WE
There is a pervasive problem in human psychology—a self-serving double-standard. We tend to judge ourselves by our intentions, but we judge others by their actions. It’s human nature to not qualify consequence and fall victim to poor habits and bad decisions. Most people continue down the path of least resistance, often exacerbating problems and making fixes marginally more difficult. Rarely is there a rational excuse for inaction, and setbacks are an expectation – look no further than weight loss, debt repayment, rebuilding trust, or controlling addiction. The easy way leads to predictable results. To persevere and make concrete changes takes effort, but small successes build satisfaction and enduring results that can be built upon to create much larger successes. This model need not be restricted to the individual. We want people to learn and teach – leading others while being led elsewhere, synergistically developing the potential of others and maximizing individual skillsets. Our collective encouragement amplifies individual results to foster deeper understanding and mobilize meaningful action and perpetual growth. The hardest part is that first step, expanding your comfort zone is where real achievement occurs. We are here to guide you through that process and keep you on track. We are your financial life coach.
